The Tandem Studios Story
Tandem Studios started in 2007 with the goal of helping children and adults lead a healthy, active lifestyle in the comfort of a friendly, community environment.
Over the years we’ve grown from 1 studio and a handful of classes to a community of over 750 dance and fitness students. In the summer of 2013, we expanded and grew to 7 studios and 125 weekly classes at our 6500 sq. ft. state-of-the-art facility. In 2014, we launched our competitive dance program, and our teams have enjoyed much success at competitions across Southern Ontario and North America. 2018 saw the launch of our newest program, T3 musical theatre, or our “triple threat” program. Since then we have put on productions of Mamma Mia!, Legally Blonde and The Addams Family.
While we continue to grow and innovate in pursuit of delivering children an outstanding performing arts education experience, we proudly stay true to our neighborhood roots and our commitment to help young artists discover their creative talents and realize their potential in the comfort of a community setting.

Just a quick note to tell you WOW – what an amazing time we had this morning!! I’ve done a lot of dance classes myself (and now as a ‘Dance Mom’ with my daughter) – your program was by far the BEST!!! We had such a blast, it was so fun for the kids (and us Moms) and Miss Sonja was absolutely WONDERFUL! So patient and kind and child-focused, we loved her!

The personal attention that I get, the friendliness of the trainers and the owners and how accommodating they are is amazing. I love going there – I always feel welcome. The fitness classes are challenging and have helped me improve and maintain my fitness levels. Tandem is the absolute best dance studio you will ever find. The staff is so welcoming and encouraging. Everyone at this studio has such a positive outlook on everything and they really do care about their dancers and the dancer’s parents. If it was not for Tandem Studios, I would not have met the most amazing friends and teachers. While providing a positive and happy environment, both Erin and Dwight have never let me down. This studio has gone above and beyond in the past year to keep students dancing and connected at a time they need it most. The staff is committed to giving dancers the best experience possible (in-studio and online), which comes as a result of the studio’s strong communication with parents and commendable efforts to collaborate with families. We are so grateful to have Tandem in our neighbourhood and so glad our child has been able to stay physically active all year, in spite of the challenging circumstances presented by the pandemic.

I’ve been dancing at Tandem Studios for almost 8 years now, and there’s so much to love. Starting off with the teachers, they are super supportive and committed. They give amazing constructive criticism, and choreograph beautiful dances. The office staff are organized, friendly, and really helpful. My teammates are motivating and we push each other to the best we can. Currently during COVID, we are having virtual classes and making the best out of the situation.
Overall, I have learned a lot from Tandem Studios and I look forward to improving even more.

Tandem is an amazing, family run dance studio. We have been clients for over 8 years. We’ve participated in recreational classes as well as competitive. I love that they offer a variety of classes including All Boy’s Hip Hop which my son enjoys. Tandem Studios has given my kids the most amazing opportunities to be a part of not only a team but also a community. This is our fourth year dancing at Tandem and it has been a great experience. I have two children, one in the competitive program and one in the recreational program. Both love their classes, teachers, and the general atmosphere at the studio. The director, Erin, and the dance instructors really take the time to know each student, and ensure that they progress with their dance technique in a fun, encouraging, and positive environment. I highly recommend Tandem to anyone looking for a fun and positive dance experience.

I discovered Tandem studios last year. After meeting the friendly staff in person I enrolled my little ones into the tiny dancer and tap class. Since then not only has our living room been filled with mini recitals but we have been able to meet a lot of really great parents through Tandem Studios. I always tell everyone about Tandem.
